New York City rock band The Men have announced their latest full length, Buyer Beware, set to release on February 28th, 2025, via the London-based independent label Fuzz Club.
Leading the charge is the album's fiery opening track and lead single, Pony, a searing slice of garage-punk which demonstrates the band’s raw energy. Buyer Beware showcases The Men at their most dynamic, blending their signature aggressive sound with a heightened focus on psychedelic textures.
The album navigates both personal and political themes, delivering a record which is as thought-provoking as it is confrontational.
Marking their fifteenth album since their 2009 debut, We Are The Men, and their fourth release on Fuzz Club, Buyer Beware also represents the band’s fifth collaboration with renowned recording engineer Travis Harrison (Guided by Voices, Built to Spill). They have given way to a work which presents the feverish intensity of The Men’s live performances without losing the introspective depth which has become a hallmark of their sound.
Talking about Pony, The Men’s Mark Perro says: “This one picked up the name Pony cuz it felt a little sugary and sweet. It was one of those things that just came out when we talked about the song and it stuck. I'm really happy with the fuzz tones we got on here, and the harmony vocals from Nick [Chiericozzi] and Jess [Poplawski] take this to another level. Lyrically, it's about that transitional moment - when the jig is up.”
