Philadelphia’s enigmatic masked collective, PLQ MRX, has announced the release of its debut EP, Cumgitsum. The new act rises based on the foundation set by Plaque Marks, a Philadelphia band which emerged in 2017 with their EP Anxiety Driven Nervous Worship before touring the States alongside Unsane.
PLQ MRX continue the path paved by Plaque Marks, featuring a couple of original members, although their identities remain unrevealed. Speculation suggests they may have ties to bands like Unsane, Swans, Foetus, Author & Punisher, and Ecstatic Vision.
The first single, Laugh to Death, is a wild and chaotic ride, blending swirling guitars with detuned trombone, eerie clown samples, and intoxicated howls, creating a notably intense and compelling piece of eccentric noise rock.
Cumgitsum will be released through three labels: Reptilian Records (US), Totem Cat (EU), and Fuzzed and Buzzed (Canada).
