Snowcuffs: Sink Down

Chicago-based dreampop band, Snowcuffs, release their anticipated debut EP, Sink Down. The title track is characteristic of the band's sound as it manages to combine their more melodic dreampop side with their affinity for a heavier shoegaze approach, making great use of airier synth and fuzzy guitars. At the same time, the expressive vocals make for a perfect accompaniment to the rich instrumentals.

Droplets, another new track from the EP and also its opening number, lingers charmingly between post punk and dreampop while showcasing the pop sensibilities in the band's songwriting.

The EP is rounded out by the previously released tracks Uptown and Ivy. Despite their relatively short time in the dreampop scene, Snowcuffs have already made a strong impression, presenting a well crafted release that showcases both cohesion and a deep understanding of the genre’s characteristics.
